Few words from HUMAK´s director Tapio Huttula

 

Humak University of Applied Sciences is the strongest expert and leading educator in the fields of humanities and pedagogy and cultural management in Finland. We operate through a nationwide network, which makes it possible to combine nationwide development with regional needs.

As our fields are closely connected with the civil society, we emphasize competence, knowledge and innovation linked to working life. Humak works in close cooperation with companies and organizations operating in its fields of expertise.

 

Human Actors

We prepare students for tasks requiring human interaction, tolerance, and respect for others.

• Our main educational goal is to train versatile experts in human connections, and enable our students to further develop their competence in the constantly changing working life.

 

Our values

The motto of Humak is Human Connections. It is the basic value that we follow in our work.

• For us, humanism means individuality, but also responsibility for one’s fellow beings.

Our values are reflected on Humak’s activities, curricula and educational implementations. We emphasise the importance of human networks, and learning and working together.

Our educational work is based on a humanistic concept of man, which emphasises a self-aware, self-steering and research-oriented learner.
